Religious Education FAMILY PROGRAM

Family Monthly Assignment Guide.doc

Sunday family program families should be working on their weekly lessons from the family workbook at home as a family each week.  Extra downloads and activities for each chapter are available at www.faithfirst.com.

Our next class meeting is Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the parish social hall.  Families will stay together for family learning about the season of Lent at this session; students will not go to classrooms with their catechists.

LENTEN SERVICE PROJECT

Families in both religious education Monday classes and Sunday family program are invited to participate in our Lenten service project, Rice Bowl kits from Catholic Relief Services.  Rice Bowls kits and calendars were sent home with Sunday families and Monday students, one per family, the week of February 7, 2010.  Students and families are encouraged to make sacrifices during Lent and put extra pocket change in the rice bowl boxes to benefit Catholic Relief Services charities and programs worldwide and in our community.

  • Each family should fill one Rice Bowl, with their efforts of their own family.  (Students should not go ‘door to door’ to solicit donations.)
  • Full Rice Bowl boxes, or donation checks made out to OLQM, should be returned to the religious education office by April 12, 2010.
  • Participation in this program is completely optional and at the discretion of each family.
