Main Leaders
The leaders of the OLQM youth group are responsible for implementing the program. Our team meets on a weekly basis to plan meetings, outings, and other events. Below are profiles of the current team members.
Stevie Staeger, Director of Youth Ministries
Stevie is the founder of the youth program at OLQM. He attended OLQM grade school for 12 years. After graduating OLQM in 2000, Stevie headed to Shrine High School where he graduated in 2004. Now a senior at Oakland University, Stevie plans to graduate in 2008 with degrees in communication and journalism which he plans on using to develop a career in radio broadcasting. Stevie also works for WWJ Newsradio 950 and at OU's college radio station, WXOU. Stevie has worked at OLQM since his freshman year in high school as a weekend receptionist at the Parish Office. In that time, he has created the OLQM website as an Eagle Scout Service Project and formed this group. You can e-mail Stevie at sstaeger@olqm-parish.org.

Katie McGowan, Assistant Director
Katie is the newest member of our team, joining us in January of 2005. Katie was also a graduate of OLQM grade school in 2000. Katie graduated from Kimball High School in Royal Oak. Katie now attends Wayne State University. Looking for a way to get more involved in her parish, she became a leader of the youth group. Katie plans on becoming a teacher after she graduates college, and is looking to get involved in programs like the youth group and the Sunday School program to get experience working with children. She is full of creative ideas and when it comes to big events, Katie excitedly contributes great ideas that make the events even better,
Part Time Leaders
These leaders are currently away at college, but help us as much as possible during breaks and other free time, especially during our big events.

Alex Citron, Leader
Alex was one of the founding leaders of the OLQM youth group. Another OLQM graduate from 2000, Alex then attended Shrine High School where he also graduated in 2004. A senior at Central Michigan University, Alex is earning a degree in Hotel and Casino management, which he plans to use to persue his dream of one day owning a Las Vegas casino. Alex worked for two years on the maintenence staff at OLQM, while also being on the youth staff. He left in the winter of 2005 to attend Central Michigan University. Although he is away, Alex is still actively involved in planning.

Claire Lewis, Leader
Claire was also a founding leader of the OLQM youth group in 2004. She worked as a full time leader during her senior year at Shrine High School, helping form the youth group into what it is today. Claire is an OLQM graduate from 2001. Claire now is at Central Michigan University in her junior year where she is majoring in Special Education and Child Development. When she wasn't working as a full time leader, Claire helped out with special needs children -- which she continues to do today. Claire is there to help over breaks and whenever she's not in school.

Garth Sabo, Leader
Another founding leader, Garth also dedicated his senior year of High School to helping out the OLQM youth group. He graduated from U of D in 2005 and now attends John Carroll University in Ohio. He is also an education Major, hoping one day to be a teacher. If you ask any of the youth group members they would tell you that Garth would make a great teacher. Garth brings a wonderful sense of humor and a very calming aspect to the leadership team. We look forward to anytime Garth is in town to come and help out.
